Junior Achievement

By Nathan and Julissa

In Junior Achievement we learned about banks and how to have a savings account.
We also leaned about  taxes to help our community. We learned that we pay taxes for almost
every we buy. We also learned about credit cards and debit cards. We played a game about
wasting money and getting money.   We made a city named Despicable City.

Mr. Albers taught us JA.  He is an accountant and financial advisor for Wipfli - Hewins.  He is also Mrs. Krahn's little brother!

Book Buddies - Halloween Week

This week with our buddies we played a get to know you activity with Skittles!  We also had fun rolling dice and adding numbers to draw crazy looking monsters!

Firemen Came to Visit!

The volunteer firemen from the Lawrence Fire Department came to visit on Friday.  They reviewed with the kids some things about fire safety.  They talked about getting out of the house safely in case of a fire as well as knowing a family meeting spot.   Please make sure to check your smoke detectors as well as practice going to the family meeting spot.  Here are some pictures from their visit.

Fun Friday events

Bloggers: Addison, Kailyn

We had fuel up to play 60 events to get our heat pumping and to have a little fun.We went to the gym to do a obstacle course. We did 7 stations that includes doing a Lambeau leap on mats, jumping over different things, hula hooping, we also did push ups in the space between the latter. That day was the best. Everybody loved it.

CAFE

Today we launched our classroom CAFE.  I wish that meant food, but it doesn't.  CAFE stands for comprehension, accuracy, fluency and expanding vocabulary.  It helps us organize our reading skills and what we need to work on.

MAP Testing = Complete!

This morning we completed our MAP testing for the fall.  The students took one math test and one reading test.   They did such a great job; you should be proud!  They listened carefully to get on the Chromebooks correctly.   They tried their best, read carefully and it showed.  I'm excited to see what they all can do this year and how much they will also grow after seeing such great starting scores! (Especially when this is brand new to them.)

3rd Grade Consensogram

Last week we met as a 3rd grade to learn a little bit more about ourselves.  The students each had 9 stickers to place on large chart paper.  Each piece of paper had a questions.  Students put their sticker to the best answer of the question for them.  They had lots of fun seeing what was most popular.
